Xbox 360 Will Not Read My Game Discs - What to Do?
The best thing to do after a long day is sit down and play xbox live. "Now why is my game not reading, hold on let me restart. Wait why is it not playing? Oh No, I think its broken!"
The xbox 360 will not read my game discs, how do I fix it? Well we have a couple options here, spend lots of time and money, or do it yourself.
If you're getting a disk reading error and wondering why, here is your answer.
It is not that the DVD player is completely ruined, so don't go tossing your drive out or even the whole thing. What happens is the heat receptors on the back of the DVD drive overheat. In turn the more heat it receives, the worse the drive gets. Which keep the DVD drive from working properly.
Now what you can do to see if it helps is..
- Leave it alone for awhile
- Unplug all connections and reconnect them later
- Try the lame towel technique
- Send it to Microsoft!!! WAIT!
Before you think of doing such a foolish thing lets look at the situation at hand. No matter what you do at the moment the heat will keep on getting to where it is not supposed to be in the xbox. If you were asking yourself why the xbox 360 will not read my game discs, now you know. It is time to do something about it.
You need to permanently get that fixed. You can send it to the big bad company for a couple hundred dollars and a two month wait or you can learn to do it yourself.
Being self sufficient is always better than relying on others. If you do it yourself then you should learn the correct way to do it, and when you do, you can make a small business out of it.
You can buy "broken consoles," fix them and sell them for more. With a good repair guide you can fix any problem the crazy xbox will give you. Look for video tutorials and step by step guides for better quality.
Don't wait any longer because your sanity can not wait that long. As a game I know that I can't wait to play Gears or COD when I get home and if I couldn't I would go nuts.

My PS3 wont read discs but everthing else works?
So one day my PS3 froze and i just figured it over heated but when i turned it back on it wouldnt read my discs. Not my games, dvds, or music cds. I have tried using a cleaning disc to clean the laser but it wont read the disc so it cant clean it. I can do just about everything else such as internet, demos, PSN home, etc... I was wondering if anybody would happen to know what this is and how to fix it.
You will need to have your laser replaced...If you have no warranty Sony will do it for $150 dollars. If you do have a warranty you will not have to pay Sony anything because they will fix it.
