I have a pretty nice set of speakers for my xbox and I was wondering if I could split the connection and plug my mp3 player into it at the same time via a splitter.
(I can always plug in my mp3 player to my xbox and run it through that, but it is 10 times slower)
Carlos - That is not a good thing to do. You really need some type of audio switch to do this right.
A general rule in audio is that OUTPUTS should never be connected together directly and that is what you would be doing by connecting BOTH outputs to one input (speakers). The easiest thing would be just to plug the speakers into the xbox OR the ipod headphone jack one at a time. If the xbox only has red/white rca outputs, you can get an adapter cable:
