An IM Faceplate Review: Social Networking For The Well Connected Entrepreneur
Business owners and network marketers alike are going crazy over this thing called IM Faceplate. This is a powerful social networking site catered to the internet marketer, hence the "IM" in the title. Not quite as busy and application heavy like MySpace and Facebook, IM Faceplate boasts a simple user interface. The concept is like many other social networks, where you friend (or follow) another member and they can return the favor.
Each member gets their own faceplate, or profile. which can be customized to display all sorts of useful business building tools. There are even tabs across the top of your faceplate that you can use to promote your articles.
What I like the most about IM Faceplate is the ease of networking. If you have a business or something very important to show the world, you can. After getting your faceplate, it's recommended that you add all of your social networking profiles to it. Add them all for maximum exposure; even your Flickr profile! Also, integrated with each IM Faceplate is Adzly. This is an extremely effective viral advertising tool that makes exposure automatic.
Adzly is a simple widget (which resembles Adsense) that shows short ads of other users on the network. You gain advertising credits each time your widgets are shown. With them being integrated with your faceplate this could mean some serious viral advertising. Essentially, all you'd have to do is drive as much traffic to your IM Faceplate as you can and your ad credits will pile up. You send people to your Facebook profile all the time, so why not get auto-exposure out of it?
IM Faceplate was in a beta stage at the time this article was written. This simply means that they're relatively new and are tweaking features of the site. You may notice a slight delay of page loads when on the social networking site. In the beginning I have to admit that this frustrated me. After a while It didn't bother me. After all, what new websites don't experience technical problems? Getting unlimited exposure of my businesses far outweighs these temporary flaws. Like, does the Guitar Hero Kramer controller have a removable neck or removable faceplate like the Les Paul controller?
all of the controllers have the same features but on the kramer the start and select buttons are a little more complicated.
