I have the go video vhs/dvd. Bad disc message comes up when a dvd or disc cleaner is inserted. It won't run ?

The player needs to read the clean disk for it to work properly. You may need to get it serviced by a pro. These do have mechanical moving parts inside that do require lubrication from time to time. That player must be over 8 years old though, it may be time to get a newer one. If you do make sure it has a ATSC tuner.
